Enjoy the entertaining and inspirational fun at the 33rd Annual Texas Storytelling Festival! Sponsored by the Tejas Storytelling Association, this unique community-building event fosters an appreciation of storytelling as an oral tradition, a performing art, and an educational tool. With special guest appearances and plenty of captivating stories, there’s tons of fun to be had for audiences of all ages!
This enriching weekend affair has something for everyone, with storytelling sessions for kids, adults, and families, as well as storytelling workshops and special classes. Come hear guest speakers like Rev. Robert Jones, a nationally known and featured African-American storyteller, and Minton Sparks, whose singular storytelling style fuses music and poetry as she uses her words to paint pictures of the rural South that she knows like the back of her hand. There will also be sessions featuring Eldrena Douma, a Native American storyteller, and Antonio Sacre, an internationally touring storyteller with an extensive repertoire that includes folk tales, myths and legends from around the world, focusing on Spanish-speaking countries.
With so many incredible contributors and wonderful workshops, the 33rd Annual Texas Storytelling Festival is the perfect way to spend your weekend. Be sure to mark your calendar and take part!
